You will be working as an integral part of our team, helping our Service Users with meal preparation, medication, companionship as well as personal care. Relevant training will be provided.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Role: Personal Assistance/Care Assistance
Report to: Line Manager

Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

To provide tailored made assistance to our individual client to enable him/her to live independently in his/her house.

Duties and responsibilities:

Your responsibility as a PA or CA includes but not limited to the following:

 

Companionship:

  • To offer Companionship and conversation
  • Book appointments
  • Assist with travel arrangements
  • Escort to appointments, visits and outing
  • Assist with clothing and shoe selection
  • Assist with entertaining, Rent and play films with our client
  • Assist with reading
  • Participate in the client’s hobbies and crafts
  • Monitor diet and eating
  • Buy client magazines, papers and books,
  • Accompany to lunch or dinner
  • Attend cinema, club meetings and sporting events with client
  • Discuss current / historical events
  • Reminisce about the past.

Home Help Duties:

  • Assist with collecting prescriptions
  • Light housekeeping, Dusting and vacuuming
  • Assist with washing and ironing
  • Make beds and change bed linen
  • Answer the door at any time
  • Arrange wardrobes and cupboards
  • Take rubbish bags out
  • Meal preparation and tidy up
  • Check food expiry dates regularly
  • Assist with home maintenance
  • Care for houseplants and assist with pet care
  • Prepare shopping lists and assist with general shopping
  • Drop off and collect dry cleaning

Personal Care Duties:

  • Help with bathing and dressing
  • Provide grooming
  • Help with eating and drinking
  • Dementia care
  • Alzheimer’s care
  • Provide respite care
  • Provide medication reminders
  • Assist with morning wake up and assist with evening tuck in routine.
  • Assist with toileting, assisting with use of commode, emptying commode.
  • Continence management

Other responsibilities include:

  • To supervise, prompt or administer medication if the client is unable to do this for themselves but only after specific training and in accordance with Radiantlife Care medication policy.
  • To keep accurate records of each visits
  • To inform the lime manager/ Supervisor of any changes to the clients conditions or inherent danger in the client home
  • To encourage your client to do things for themselves in other to promote their independence.
  • To keep the client’s confidentiality confidence
  • To where the personal protective equipment when required.
  • Any other duties as may deem necessary
  • Working with other care professionals such as District Nurses, GPs, etc.
  • Using manual handling equipment as specified.
